‘Trinity’ paper sculpture is a meditative exploration of arabesque patterns, blending traditional ornamental motifs with a modern geometric aesthetic. The interplay of folds and facets captures the subtle variations of light and shadow, evoking a sense of movement and depth. The creamy tones of the paper are intentionally chosen to highlight the purity and versatility of the medium, allowing the intricate forms to take center stage.
Inspired by the timeless beauty of arabesques, this piece reimagines their fluidity in a three-dimensional context. Each fold is a deliberate act, transforming flat paper into a dynamic tapestry of interlocking shapes. The process of working with paper—its pliability and precision—mirrors the balance sought in the design, where symmetry and asymmetry coexist in harmony.
Through this work, I aim to celebrate the understated elegance of paper and its capacity to convey complexity and emotion. The sculpture invites the viewer to reflect on the harmony found in repetition and the beauty that emerges from meticulous craftsmanship.
